About this work

This sketch shows two people on a rocky shore near the water. One stands upright, holding a hat, while the other sits or kneels on the jagged rocks. The artist used quick, scratchy lines to show the wind-blown grass and rough texture of the rocks. The standing figure’s pose looks relaxed, almost like they’re posing for a quick sketch. The way the artist drew the rocks and grass with tight, overlapping lines makes the scene feel rough and natural.
