Snow scene with two cows (left) and sketches of chickens (right) is a 1805 watercolor by Beatrix Potter, a Romanticism work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
Beatrix Potter painted this watercolour of a snowy hillside with two cows on the left and quick chicken sketches on the right. It’s a loose, wintry scene full of broad brushstrokes over faint pencil lines. Potter often drew Hill Top Farm in the Lake District after she bought it in 1905. This sheet may date from her snowy studies in 1909–1913, focusing on snow-covered fields and bare trees. Look up Beatrix Potter next.
A sheet features a pencil and watercolour study of a snowy hillside, with trees at the top and two cows walking down it; footprints and dips are visible in the snow. The right side of the sheet is separated by a pencil line and contains eight sketches of chickens. The landscape is thought to depict Hill Top Farm in the Lake District, with studies dating from around 1909, 1910, or 1913. The snowy hillside and wintry trees are rendered in broad watercolour brushstrokes over sketchy pencil lines.
