This painting shows a rough, misty valley with jagged hills on either side. A winding river cuts through the center, surrounded by rocky slopes and a few bare trees. The colors are mostly muted browns and grays, with patches of pale green where grass or water might be. The brushstrokes look loose and sketchy, almost like the artist worked quickly outdoors. The painting feels raw and unfinished, with some areas blurred by watercolor bleeding. This style was common when artists painted landscapes directly from nature.
