This image shows a dramatic scene carved into black and white lines. At the center, a winged figure holds a scroll while standing on a pedestal. Below, two lions flank a book with fancy writing. To the sides, muscular men and a woman with a wreath lean in, as if presenting something important. The whole scene looks like a stage with swirling movement and bold shapes. The text on the pedestal reads *De Symbolis Heroicis*, which means "On the Symbols of Heroes." This was likely the title page for a book about ancient symbols.
