This is an album of watercolours, sketches, and prints by a group of amateur artists. They all knew each other, including Elizabeth, Countess of Sutherland, and Henry William Bunbury. The pages mix handwritten poems and letters with small artworks. Such albums were called “commonplace books.” People kept them to hold poems or memories they wanted to remember.
