It subsequently entered the collection of the Russian industrialist and prince Paul Pavlovich Demidoff, Principe di San Donato, as part of the Demidov collection.
The work was later acquired by Stanton Blake before eventually being accessioned into the holdings of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, where it is currently held.
