Natural Bridge is a 1857 ink by Woldemar Rau, a Impressionism work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This image shows a rocky archway framed by thick trees and a winding stream below. The scene is dark and detailed, with shadows clinging to the cliffs. A few tiny figures stand near the base of the arch, dwarfed by the towering stone and forest. The title at the bottom reads *Natural Bridge*, and the print was made using a method that layers ink onto stone. This was a common way to make many copies of an image in the 1800s. Look up lithography to see how this printmaking technique works.
