This image shows a small, dark scene tucked into a light background. Two figures—one cloaked, one hooded—walk away from you, their backs turned. The colors are mostly greenish-black, with the pale paper around them standing out like a frame. The artist used a method called aquatint to create smooth tones, giving the figures a ghostly, shadowy look. This was a way to add depth without heavy lines. Next, look up technique: aquatint to see how artists use it to make prints look almost like paintings.
