Anne Ward Morland (Delia in Town) is a 1788 ink by John Raphael Smith, a Romanticism work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This drawing shows a woman in a big hat with feathers, sitting in what looks like a carriage. She’s wearing a light dress with a dark blue sleeve peeking out, and her hands rest on a small table. The background is blurry but hints at trees and a park. The artist used a special ink technique to make the shading soft and detailed. This style was popular in the late 1700s for portraits.
