Old Parham Hall, Suffolk, the "Moat House" of the poet Crabbe is a 1850 watercolor by Clarkson RA Stanfield, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This painting shows a row of old stone houses by a water’s edge. The buildings have tall, narrow windows with white frames and steep roofs. One house has a tall chimney, and the whole scene looks quiet and a bit misty. The colors are mostly soft grays and browns, with a few darker trees on the left. The artist focused on how light hits the buildings, making some parts look brighter than others. This style was common in watercolors of the time.
