Bone structure relating to the human throat
1970
From the collection of Leiden University Libraries
This drawing shows animal skulls with the brain and throat area exposed. The top two skulls are cut open from the side, revealing the inside of the head. On the right, there are side views of the jawbone and throat bones, drawn separately. The artist focused on how the bones connect, especially around the throat. The lines are precise, showing details like muscle attachments. Next, look up cross-hatching to see how artists create shading with lines.
