Decoration peculiar to old Kiyoto ware is a 1877 paint by Unknown, a Impressionism work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This painting shows bright, flat colors of bamboo, birds, and a frog on a light background. The bamboo leaves are red, blue, and green, while the frog has a spotted shell and a red tail. Up top, there’s a simple outline of a white bowl. The note below says this design was used on old Kiyoto pottery. The colors and shapes look simple but careful. The drawing titled *Decoration peculiar to old Kiyoto ware* was created in 1877 by an unknown artist. It was purchased from Miss Mary Dresser in 1905, along with a group of works numbered D.397 to D.541-1905, and had previously been part of Christopher Dresser’s collection.
