This painting shows two main scenes split down the middle. On the left, a robed figure with a golden halo stands beside a group of people dressed in bright orange and green clothes. They’re in a landscape with rolling hills and simple trees. On the right, another figure with a halo rises from a tomb, holding a cross, while a kneeling man watches. The sky is blue with gold stars, and the colors are flat and bold. Notice the strange writing above the rising figure—it looks like an old script. The painting mixes two stories in one frame, which was common in religious art to teach lessons. Look up inscription to see how different cultures used writing in art.
