About this work

This is a long, narrow wooden board with three rectangular panels of black ink on a light background. The ink looks like tiny, packed lines—almost like rows of dots or stitches—forming a pattern across each panel. There are two small round marks near the top, maybe for hanging or handling. The text is dense and uniform, with no images or breaks. It’s hard to read what it says, but it’s clearly meant to be studied closely. If you like old handwritten books, check out The Cleveland Museum of Art for more pieces like this.
