The Nativity is a 1626 by Francesco Villamena, a Baroque work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This painting shows a scene with several people and an angel. The angel is flying above, and the people are gathered around a baby. The baby is lying on a box, and a woman is kneeling next to him. There are also some animals, like a donkey and a cow, in the background. The painting is done in a style that makes the figures look very realistic. The artist has used a lot of detail to show the textures of the clothes and the skin of the people. The colors are muted, with lots of browns and grays. The Nativity by Francesco Villamena is an etching on paper from 1626, depicting the biblical scene of Christ's birth with the inscription "Christus Dominus in præsepio ex matre Virgine nascitur." It is one of twenty prints in a series illustrating scriptural subjects, derived from Raphael’s frescoes in the Vatican’s Loggie, often called the 'Raphael Bible.'
