About this work

You see a woman with wings, representing Fortune, in this painting. She's dressed in flowing clothes and has a gentle expression. Her left hand holds a rudder, guiding the way. This painting is a study for a larger mural, which is interesting because it shows how the artist planned and prepared for a big project.
