This picture shows a soldier in a big, stiff uniform with black and white stripes. His tall hat has a red plume, and he’s standing with one hand on his hip. Behind him, a city street has buildings with towers and a few people walking. The soldier’s face is dark, but the style looks more like a woodcut or print than a painted portrait.
