Näkymä Kasvitieteelliseen puutarhaan is a work by Magnus von Wright, held at Helsinki City Museum.
This sketch shows a quiet landscape with a mix of buildings and nature. On the left, a large roof juts out over a sloped area, while on the right, a white building with columns stands near a bridge. Below, a winding path cuts through a field dotted with small trees. The sky above is a swirl of blue, pink, and gray clouds. The artist used quick, loose lines to suggest depth and movement, especially in the sky. The buildings and paths are drawn with careful shading, giving the scene a sketchy yet detailed feel. Next, check out the technique: cross-hatching to see how artists build texture with lines.
Magnus von Wright (13 June 1805 – 5 July 1868) was a Finnish painter and educator. In addition to bird illustrations, he was also known for his landscapes. He was one of the four sibling von Wright artists.
