Christ before Caiaphas is a 1513 ink by Albrecht Altdorfer, a Renaissance work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This black-and-white print shows five men in a dim room. One man kneels, his head bowed, while another stands over him, pointing a finger. The others watch, some holding staffs. The walls are plain, and a window with shutters lets in little light. The scene looks tense, like an argument or trial.
