Lady with Wine Bottle, and Two Gentlemen is a 1634 ink by Jacques Callot, a Baroque work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This sketch shows three people in old-fashioned clothes. Two men wear silly hats with horns and carry swords. One man holds a jug, the other looks ready to fight. A woman stands between them, holding a basket with a bottle sticking out. The text at the bottom says *"Cum Privilege Reg. Israel excudit"*, which means it was printed with permission. The lines are scratchy, like the artist pressed hard into the metal plate. Want to see more like this? Look up etching.
Jacques Callot was a baroque printmaker and draftsman from the Duchy of Lorraine.
