This busy scene shows a wedding party outside a rustic wooden house. The bride and groom dance in the center, surrounded by guests in fancy 18th-century clothes. Some people sit on benches, others stand or watch from the porch, while a horse stands tied nearby. The sky is soft with clouds, and the whole scene has a warm, slightly faded look. The title hints this is a wedding dance, but the artist packed in lots of little details—like the dog sniffing the ground or the child reaching out. The way the people are dressed and the house looks suggests this might be from a time before cars or phones. If you liked this, check out etching to see how artists made prints like this.
