Les Deux Baisers (The Two Kisses) is a 1786 ink by Philibert-Louis Debucourt, a Romanticism work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This crowded room shows four people in fancy 18th-century clothes. A woman in a big white dress with a towering white wig stands near an easel, while a man in a brown coat leans in to kiss her. Another man in a blue coat holds a small dog, and a third man sits on a chair playing a violin. The easel holds a painting of a woman in a similar wig, and a bust sits on a shelf in the background. The messy floor and scattered tools suggest a lively, informal moment. The artist’s name in the corner hints this was made as a quick sketch-like print, not a polished painting.
