Peisaj cu arbori ciuntiți; pandant: Peisaj cu arbori is a work by Anton Faistenberger, a Baroque work, held at Brukenthal National Museum.
This painting shows a quiet countryside scene. Rolling green hills stretch toward a rocky outcrop in the distance. A small stream winds through the foreground, with trees—some bare, some leafy—scattered around. A few cows graze near the water, and a lone figure stands near the left edge, maybe tending to something. The sky is soft with light clouds, and the whole scene feels calm. The artist used shadows and light to give depth to the trees and hills. The way the dark trunks stand out against the lighter background makes the landscape feel real. Look up chiaroscuro next to see how this technique works.
