"...disposto...disposto sempre all'ubbidienza" (Always Ready to Obey) is a 1829 ink by Gallo Gallina, a Romanticism work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This print shows four men in a dramatic scene by a small stone chapel. One man in fancy clothes holds a sword, while another kneels beside him, arms raised. A third man gestures wildly, and the fourth, dressed like a priest, stands with hands clasped. The chapel has a cross on top and a pointed archway, with mountains and trees in the background. The artist used sharp lines to show tension between the men, focusing on their clothing and body language. This was made as a lithograph, a printing method that lets artists draw directly onto stone. Look up lithography to see how this technique works.
