Saint Sebaldus and Saint Lawrence is a 1480 ink by German 15th Century, a Renaissance work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This painting shows two saints standing on either side of a large coat of arms. The saint on the left wears a blue robe and a black hat, holding a staff in his right hand. The saint on the right wears a red robe and holds a palm branch in his left hand. The coat of arms is yellow with a black eagle design and a crown on top. Below the coat of arms are two smaller shields, one blue with a yellow eagle and the other yellow with a black eagle. The background of the painting is off-white with a red border. The painting is a woodcut, hand-colored in blue, red, yellow, green, and orange. If you're interested in learning more about this style, you might want to look into the Renaissance movement.
This 15th-century German artist carved vivid religious scenes into metal and wood, then hand-painted them in bright, symbolic colors.
