This sketch shows two armored knights on horseback mid-joust. Shields fly off as lances clash. Black ink and watercolor bring the scene to life. Unusual details jump out. The riders wear helmets without bevors—the metal flaps that usually protect necks. Their horses have armor too, but the whole thing feels more playful than real.
