This painting shows a simple wooden house with a sloped roof and small windows. The colors are muted—mostly faded browns and greys. It looks like an old farm building standing alone in a field. The artist used thick paint in places, making some edges rough. That’s called impasto. It gives the scene a gritty, almost unfinished feel. Look up the Museum of Ethnography to see more like it.
