View of Meers is a 1681 ink by Melchior Küsel, a Baroque work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This etching shows a busy harbor scene with ships, people, and a large building in the background. The water is full of boats—some small, some big—while workers and horses move supplies near the dock. A few figures stand on the rooftops, and the whole scene looks detailed but a bit chaotic. The title at the bottom, *View of Meers*, hints this might be a real place, but the artist focused more on the activity than the exact location. The lines and shading give it a textured, almost sketchy feel, which was a common way to make prints back then. Want to see more like this?
