Nud cu scrisoare is a 1921 by Theodor Pallady, held at National Museum of Art of Romania.
A woman lies on her side, half-asleep on a couch. Her arm is under her head, and she holds a crumpled paper in her other hand. The couch is red and yellow, and there’s a bright green plant behind her. On a nearby table sits a red apple and a knife. The brushstrokes are thick and rough, making the skin and fabric look textured. The colors are bold but not polished—some areas are still wet-looking. This style is called impasto.
