About this work

A woman sits on a blue chair in a dimly lit room. She’s naked, resting her arm on the chair’s armrest, her head tilted slightly. Behind her, a desk holds a few objects—a teapot, a green plant, and a shelf with small items. The walls are plain, and the floor has a patterned rug. The brushstrokes are loose, almost sketchy, giving the scene a rough, unfinished feel. The lighting is uneven, with shadows pooling around her body. Check out chiaroscuro to see how artists use light and dark for drama.
