Gang bian xing hua is a 1780 paint by Unknown, a Romanticism work, depicting Floral Pattern, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This painting shows a single branch of flowers with soft pink petals and tiny green buds. The leaves are light green, and the stems curve gently against a plain white background. Some flowers are open wide, while others are still closed, giving a sense of quiet growth. The brushstrokes are light and precise, almost like a sketch come to life. The colors feel fresh but muted, as if the flowers were painted in a calm, natural light. If you like this style, check out the Victoria and Albert Museum for more works like it.
A rectangular watercolour painting from 1780 features muted tones and depicts a grey branch extending from the right side of the page. Multiple stems grow from the branch, each bearing five-petalled pink flowers surrounded by green leaves. The work may represent *gang bian xing hua*. It was purchased from E. Parsons and accessioned in 1889 as recorded in the Asia Department registers during a 2022 provenance research project.
