About this work

This is the back of a wooden panel with a faded, dark brown finish. The wood shows visible grain and some small holes, likely from nails or screws. There’s a handwritten number, "MS.31792," near the top edge. The panel looks worn, with patches of lighter color where the wood might be damaged or aged. It’s held together by small metal clips along the edges. If you’re curious about how old objects like this are stored, check out the Museum of Ethnography.
