About this work

This is a worn wooden panel with faded pencil marks. The wood shows deep grooves from age, and a few numbers are scratched into it: "M.S. 34219" and "86637." There’s also a faint, ghostly outline of a shape—maybe a person or an animal—drawn lightly in the center. The drawing looks like it was made with simple lines, almost like a sketch. The wood itself tells a story of time, with cracks and patches of darker stain. Next, look up cross-hatching to see how artists build shadows with lines.
