This print shows a dark tree on the left and a rocky hillside on the right. A small stream runs between them, with a few tiny buildings near the water. The sky is mostly empty, and the whole scene is drawn in black lines on a light background. The artist used lots of cross-hatching—tiny lines crisscrossed to make shadows and shapes. This was a common way to add depth in old prints. Look up chiaroscuro next to see how this trick works in other art.
