About this work

This drawing shows a long row of men on horseback. They’re all dressed the same—wearing feathered hats, coats, and boots. Some horses are walking, some are rearing up. The background is just a plain, dark sky with no clouds. Look closer: the artist wrote notes below, naming the horses and riders. One horse is called "Rubino," and it’s decorated with gold.
