Landscape with Rock and Fortress is a 1645 oil by Domenico Gargiulo, a Baroque work, held at Art Institute of Chicago.
This painting shows a landscape with a rock and a fortress. It's an Italian landscape from the 1600s. The artist used a lot of detail to show the texture of the rock and the walls of the fortress, which is interesting because it shows how much care he put into the painting.
