This sketch shows two people sitting close together in a dimly lit room. One person is turned slightly away, their arm resting on the other’s shoulder. The other faces forward, their head tilted down, hair loose. The lines are loose and quick, like they were drawn fast. The paper has a yellowish tint, and the image looks like it was made by rubbing crayon or pencil over a carved surface. This was a common way to make prints back then. Next, check out lithography to see how artists like this made multiple copies of their work.
