The story of this work

Overview

The painting depicts Krishna and Radha celebrating Holi, throwing colored powder at one another, rendered in opaque watercolour on paper. Created in 1770 by an unknown artist, it is part of a set of works acquired by the Victoria and Albert Museum in 1954 from Maggs Bros. for £150.
