About this work

I'm looking at a painting of four men. One of them is being supported by the other three. The man in the middle is being held up, and the others are trying to help him walk. The scene is set at night, and it's dark. The men are all wearing old-fashioned clothes. One of them is carrying a lantern, which is lighting up the scene. The painting is quite dark, but you can make out the figures of the men. It's a pretty somber scene. The painting is called "Seeing the Drunkard Home" and it's held at the Museum of Ethnography.
