This lithograph shows two middle-aged men talking. The man on the left smiles, one hand on his hip, while the man on the right stares into space, lost in thought. Their clothes look rumpled, like they’ve been out all day. Daumier loved mocking politicians with quick, sharp drawings. This one pokes fun at power and pride.
