This shows a man in a red cloak standing in a dark forest. Snow covers the ground and bare trees. He holds a spear and looks back at us. The paint is thick in places. This is called impasto. It makes the cloak look heavy and the snow sparkle. It feels like a scene from a Finnish folktale. Look up Gallen-Kallela, Akseli next.
