The Statue of Marforio is a 1550 ink by Italian 16th Century, a Renaissance work, held at National Gallery of Art.
The painting shows a talking statue of Oceanus. It's an old statue, and this artwork tells us what it looked like. The statue was moved around Rome, finally settling in the piazza del Campidoglio, which is interesting because it shows how important the statue was to the city, and to learn more about this type of artwork, look up the technique: engraving.
