This engraving shows a fancy vase covered in swirling leaves and odd creatures. The vase looks almost alive with its mix of real and imaginary parts. Saly studied in Rome where artists loved old Roman styles. But here, he adds wild animals and plants that never existed. The result is playful, not strict.
