Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives is a 1844 watercolor by Unknown, a British Romanticism work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This sketch shows a city built on rolling hills, with domes and minarets scattered across the landscape. A winding road cuts through the middle, and a small stream runs near the bottom. The colors are soft—pale greens, browns, and yellows—with a hazy sky above. The artist focused on capturing the quiet light of the scene, blending colors smoothly. The handwritten note says it’s from the Mount of Olives, looking toward Jerusalem. Next, check out the Victoria and Albert Museum to see more works like this.
