Punaki Ragani is a 1700 paint by Unknown, a Baroque work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This painting shows two people in bright colors. The man stands in a yellow outfit with red trim, holding out his hand. The woman sits on a decorated platform, wearing green and gold, and takes something from him. Behind them is a simple building with a red roof and a small tower. The bright colors and bold lines are typical of the time. The scene looks like a quiet moment between two people, maybe sharing something important. A painting in opaque watercolour on paper depicts a ragamala illustration for the musical mode Punaki Ragani, showing a seated girl offering coins to a standing man. The work is attributed to an unknown artist from around 1700. It was formerly part of the collection of Mr. Michael Rothenstein before being acquired by IS.46 to 73-1953 for £300.
