Un Locataire qui a eu un oubli le 1er janvier is a 1847 ink by Honoré Daumier, a Romanticism work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This sketch shows two people in a dimly lit room with tall columns. One person, dressed in old-fashioned clothes, is standing on a chair, reaching up with a long stick. Below them, another person in a hat looks up, holding the same stick. The floor is messy, with what looks like a spilled bag of something. Notice how the artist used quick, sketchy lines to show movement and urgency. The scene feels rushed, like something important is about being fixed. Want to learn more? Check out lithography.
