About this work

This print shows a woman sitting on a rocky shore with her back to us. Behind her, another figure stands with arms raised, holding what looks like a fan or branch. The scene is filled with jagged lines and rough textures—like bark or waves—that surround them. The woman touches her face, and the whole image feels both wild and dreamlike. The title *Auti Te Pape* hints this might be inspired by Tahitian myths, not just a real place. The artist used sharp contrasts between light and dark to create drama.
