Equestrian portrait with angels is a 1850 paint by Unknown, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This painting shows a man riding a brown horse in mid-gallop. He’s dressed in flowing white robes and a turban, holding a spear high in the air. Above him, four winged figures with golden halos float in a swirling blue sky, their faces turned toward the scene. The bright colors and dramatic movement make it feel like a mix of action and fantasy. The horse’s muscles are tense, and the rider’s posture is confident, almost like he’s leading a charge. The rectangular page depicts a nobleman mounted on a rearing horse set against a green backdrop, poised to hurl a spear with his right hand. Above the horseman, spiraling clouds frame four winged angels descending with floral garlands. The paint layer shows significant wear, and the lower section of the page was originally absent, later replaced with a new border after the work entered the Victoria and Albert Museum's collection.
