Landscape with a fortified wall and a hilltop village is a 1850 by Unknown, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This drawing shows a landscape with a fortified wall and a hilltop village. The scene includes a Chinese figure and a cow in the foreground. It looks like a quiet moment in a rural area. The drawing has a lot of detail, with lines and shading that create depth. The artist used simple lines to draw the village and wall. To learn more about this style, look up the technique: cross-hatching.
A landscape drawing in the style of George Chinnery depicts a fortified wall with a hilltop village in the background, featuring a Chinese figure and a cow in the foreground. The work is part of a volume containing 130 drawings made in Macau, Guangzhou, and nearby areas. It was bequeathed in 1928 by James Orange as part of an album originally containing 93 drawings attributed to Chinnery. Chinnery, born in London in 1774, worked as a portraitist before relocating to India in 1802 and later settling in Macau in 1825, where he remained until his death in 1852.
