The painting depicts a somber scene of Adam and Eve mourning over the body of Abel. Adam, positioned on the left, is shown with his right arm extended and his left hand resting on his chin. He is clad in a leafy loincloth, with a dark cloak draped over his left shoulder. Eve, seated on the right, has her hands clasped together in front of her, also wearing a leafy loincloth. The body of Abel lies on the ground between them, with a skull and jawbone nearby. The setting appears to be a rocky, wooded area, with a blue sky visible in the background. The overall mood of the painting is one of grief and sorrow. This painting is held at the Museum of Ethnography.
